There is no fuel surcharge to come out here. The rate at the top of Bear Mountain is the same rate as a flat in James Bay — if a company is charging you differently for the drive, that is a pricing decision, not a cost of doing the work.

The three-storey townhome is the default floor plan
Garage level, main level, bedrooms on top. That is two flights of stairs, not one. Stairs are $59 per flight of up to 13 steps, so two flights is $90 on top of your rooms — and it is the single line people forget when they hold two quotes side by side and wonder why one is cheaper.
Pale carpet hides nothing, and that is fine
Builder-grade carpet through Westhills and Happy Valley is usually a light beige or grey. Traffic lanes show up early because the colour has nowhere to hide them. The good news is that carpet only a few years old has not been abraded yet, so hot-water extraction normally takes those lanes most of the way back rather than just lightening them.
A lot of it is rented, and turnovers run to a clock
If the walkthrough date is already set, book the clean one or two days ahead of it so the carpet is dry and fresh when the inspection happens. Move-out work goes on a flat package with a dated itemised receipt attached.
Count your flights first
Before you compare any two Langford quotes, walk your own stairs and count. A garage-to-main flight and a main-to-bedrooms flight are two separate flights at $59 each.
A half-flight to a split-level landing counts as one flight, not two — we do not split hairs to inflate the number.
